Aluminum Frame Patio Gazebos With Heavy-Duty Polyester Canopies

Aluminum frame patio gazebos are great for shade and shelter on your patio or deck. Aluminum is a highly durable, rust-resistant metal that weathers the outdoors well. It’s also quite lightweight, meaning that your patio gazebo can be easily moved or transported anywhere you see fit. But some aluminum frame gazebos are flimsy and weak because the metal frame supports are too thin and cheaply made. The gazebo cannot stand up to wind, or even a light breeze without collapsing. And if you want to move the gazebo frequently to use in different places, or use it repeatedly over years, well…good luck. Supports get bent, or dinged, and canopy durability is always a question. Here’s a few models, courtesy of Canopy Center, that may end your gazebo frustrations.

The frame of this Eclipse II 10′ x 10′ gazebo (pictured at right, in blue) is made of aircraft-grade anodized aluminum, offering high strength and durability. 10x10 Eclipse aluminum frame patio gazebo by E-Z UP will last for many years with good care. Click here for more details. The patented E-Z UP frame design helps you assemble and erect the shelter quickly, no tools required. It’s roomy; the elevated center of the canopy peaks at over 11 feet. The telescoping legs can be adjusted for uneven patios or deck floors. Canopies are available in four colors and are made of commercial-grade 500 denier polyester, meaning they’re densely woven for long life. The canopy is also flame retardant. A carry bag is included in case you want to tote your aluminum frame patio gazebo with you to the campground or the beach for a change of scenery.

If you’re looking to host a crowd on the patio, the 15′ x 10′ Aluma Canopy (pictured below right, in red) may suit your needs. 15x10 Aluma Canopy patio gazebo will shelter two picnic tables full of people. Click here for more details. The frame is anodized industrial grade aluminum, height is adjustable to over 7 feet, and the 500 denier polyester canopy is available in four colors. Tie down stakes, rope, and dust cover are included. This aluminum frame patio gazebo, for its large size, only weighs about 60 lbs. It’s still transportable for fun at parks (regulations permitting) and other outings. Different sizes are available; simply search for “aluminum canopy” at Canopy Center. Also check out gazebo canopy accessories like the heavy duty canopy stakes and weight bags for added gazebo stability in windy conditions.

Now, these patio gazebos are not cheap. These aren’t your $69 Wal-Mart canopies. And don’t get me wrong; I love Wal-Mart! But for what you spend, you make up for it in construction that will last. If you want to use the gazebo a number of times over more than one summer, you must invest in quality. Hey, how many flimsy, cheap aluminum gazebo canopies have you bought and thrown out before you came here? How much did you spend on them in total? Yep…you need to click the links and check these gazebos out. Use the Canopy Center discount coupon code at the top of this page. Finally, your hunt for well-made aluminum frame patio gazebos is over.

Metal Gazebo: An Outstanding Garden Or Patio Accent

July 23rd, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

A metal gazebo is an unusual accent for one’s patio or garden. The Grand Gazebo is oversized to accomodate large patio dining sets seating 12. Available in your choice of steel or galvanized steel construction with powdercoat finish - Click for more info Metal gazebos are visually striking precisely because they are not an ordinary, run-of-the-mill wooden or vinyl gazebo. The shape of the structure is classic gazebo, yet the choice of material - metal - makes it up-to-date and new. Metal is gaining in popularity as a gazebo building material. Let’s check out some of the reasons why you might consider putting a permanent metal gazebo in your yard.

Metal Gazebos are Strong and Durable

An outdoor structure must be strong and durable to withstand the elements year-round, which qualifies metal as a good gazebo construction material. A outdoor metal gazebo may sound rather stark and cold but it does not have to be. You will easily find traditional and contemporary styles in different sizes, even unique custom made designs should you have a specific look in mind. Metal gazebo kits are in vogue with the DIY crowd. Popular metals include iron, wrought iron, steel and galvanized steel, and aluminum. Particularly interesting and decorative are metal filigree gazebos; gazebos that feature finely detailed and scrolled metalwork on the frame elements.

This metal Filigree Gazebo boasts galvanized steel construction warrantied for 10 years, weather-resistant powdercoat finish, and an optional Sunbrella canvas top for shade - Click for more info

An intricate filigree gazebo in metal (such as the one at right) looks lovely in a garden with vining plants and flowers climbing the sides. Some metal gazebos even come with a weather-resistant canopy that attaches to the openwork mesh roof to offer more shade to guests below. Then there’s that unique look. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another yard with THAT kind of gazebo.

Metal Gazebo Care and Maintenance

The materials used in building a metal gazebo need to be conditioned in order to endure different types of weather conditions year round. Galvanized steel and aluminum are highly rust-resistant, while steel and iron need to be treated or powdercoated to resist corrosion. Rust is the number one enemy of a metal gazebo. If you buy a powdercoated steel or iron gazebo, make sure to not to scratch the metal’s coating as rust will set in. If needed, anti-rust compounds may be applied every year to the gazebo’s frame and parts. Check the manufacturer’s suggestions for care. Follow the instructions and you will be able to keep the metal gazebo fresh-looking and beautiful for as long as you want.

The roof needs to be designed and constructed in such a way that accomodates the weather in your particular locale. For example, if you live where it snows heavily then you need to have a roof that is rated for snow loads or that facilitates removal and drainage. Hot and humid areas may require you to cover the roof with a canopy to minimize heat and sun glare for yourself and friends.

The Monument Gazebo features galvanized steel construction with a weather-resistant powdercoat finish, six removable box planters (hanging baskets not included) and an optional Sunbrella canvas top and sheer drapes - Click for more info

You and your family and friends will enjoy the metal gazebo for outdoor dining, barbeques or get-togethers. Its sleek good looks will complement any style patio or outdoor furniture set and give a unique look to your outdoor entertaining space. Take a closer look today at a metal gazebo for your backyard. Lattice Gazebos Add Sophisticated Charm to Your Yard

July 16th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

Lattice gazebos look particularly lovely in a garden or backyard. Premier Garden Grove Gazebo 12 Foot Most gazebos you see have rails or posts, or solid walls. Lattice is a unique look. Using lattice work in a gazebo’s construction still creates a sense of privacy and enclosure, but the openwork of the wood lattice walls allows sunlight and air to easily pass through, creating a feeling of airy spaciousness. The lattices invite one to plant decorative climbing vines or roses around the gazebo, helping it to blend in with the landscape and make it look like it’s always been there. The only thing missing from this pic are plants around the gazebo; it’s a little naked to me. They would help soften the base and anchor the structure in the landscape. But I want you to admire the cool latticework for now…;-)

Lattice gazebos are great to use as a spa or hot tub enclosure because they offer a measure of privacy while letting in cool summer breezes and dappled sunlight. They just look classy in the yard. This cedar lattice gazebo is a gazebo kit style called the “Premier Garden Grove” and is sold online by WillyGoat. Cedar is a wood well-known for its weather resistance. This gazebo measures 12′ in diameter and has aluminum screens in aluminum frames. Click on the picture for more information. There are other sizes available. If you’re thinking about installing a permanent gazebo in your yard or garden, consider stylish lattice gazebos.

Silence After The Storm (But Not For Long)

July 14th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

No, I wasn’t on vacation - at least not a planned one.

We’ve had a long run of massive thunderstorms over the past 2 - 3 weeks. A baaaad ‘jamma came through the last weekend of June with incredible lightning and with one horrible strike fried my trusty computer (aaarrgh!) and two TVs, short-circuited my fridge, killed the phone service, took out the attic exhaust fan (dang, it’s hot here) and all but blasted the sprinkler control panel off the basement wall. It’s a miracle that my house didn’t burn down. Some houses in the area have burned down in these storms - but for grace, there go I.

So I’ve had to patiently shop around for a tech bargain to get back online. I finally found a great laptop which now allows me to work anywhere in the house or outside (yay!) on my wireless connection.  My old hard drive was fortunately spared damage. I had it remade into an external drive with all my data intact. I’m all hooked up and back to blogging. Talk soon.

Gazebos Add Shade, Distinction To Your Landscape

June 17th, 2008    Subscribe To Our Feed

This article in the Huntington WV Herald-Dispatch nicely outlines why you might consider building a permanent gazebo.  Can it beautify your yard? Yes. Can it increase your usable living and entertaining space? Yes. Can the gazebo make your home more inviting and enjoyable? Absolutely, yes. Will it increase your home’s market value? Real estate is in such a flux these days, it’s nigh impossible to give a definite answer; but like any home improvement project, a gazebo may add to a home’s value.

The number one reason why homeowners buy gazebos according to the article is to add shade to the yard. They’re a beautiful way to create cool outdoor shelter. Check the offerings from Yardiac, Gazebo Creations, and WillyGoat (links in the sidebar) for a wide array of options in permanent gazebos, cabanas and spa enclosures. There’s something for every price point.
